The art of the Macaron

French ‘Macaron’ or English ‘Macaroon’ comes from the Italian word ‘Maccarone’ which is derived from ‘ammaccare’ meaning to crush or beat.  In this case used in reference to the almonds which are the principal ingredient in our macarons.  Some say that baking the perfect macaroon is a fine art, requiring lots of patience. An element of unique ‘know how’ only achievable after months or even years of practice.

We have been teaching the art of the macaron to hundreds of people over the last 8 years, as a result, we have many stories to tell.  It is a really fun and informative class, not only do we share our recipe, our years of experience but all of our secrets too.

Our aim is to make sure our students leave feeling confident to make macarons when they get home.   We also now offer other baking classes include cake decorating and patisserie.
